Carolyn Keiling

Carol moved to Pine Island in 1978 as a teen. She later married and raised two children here on the Island. She began working for Tom Putnam Insurance, part-time, as a bookkeeper in 1999. By 2002 she was working at the agency full time and taking the necessary classes to begin the licensing procedure. When Tom announced his intention to retire early in 2003, Carol, now fully licensed, purchased the agency. "It was perfect timing and I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity. Tom is a wonderful friend and mentor. I love my job, being able to serve my friends and neighbors right here on Pine Island has been a true blessing." Carol spends much of her time on overseeing the overall operation of the agency, but still finds time to write some new business and to help current customers when they need it. "I want to stay in touch with the needs of our customers and I cannot do that if I shut myself up in an office."
